The Allman Brothers got some help from a few friends during last night’s show at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. Bobby Allende was the first to make an appearance when he joined the band for “You Don’t Love Me” early in the show. before returning for “End of the Line” a few songs later. The Juke Horns, Gregg Allman band guitarist Scott Sharrad and bassist Lincoln Schleifer then took the stage for “That’s What Love Will Make You Do,” with Schleifer and the horns sticking around for “Soulshine.” Allende then returned for a set-closing “Ain’t Wastin’ Time No More.”

The second set kicked off with a “Midnight Rider” that featured Lamar Williams Jr. (son of former ABB bassist Lamar Williams) before Trombone Shorty made his mark on the show during “Dusk Til Dawn.” The horns then helped out on “Don’t Keep Me Wondering,” “I’ve Been LovingYou Too Long,” and “And It Stoned Me.” Allende then joined in for “Les Brers in A Minor,” a drum jam and the encore “No One to Run With” that closed out the show.

The Allman Brothers Band will return to the Beacon Theatre tomorrow night for the next show of their 14-night residency at the iconic NYC venue. As previously reported, Jaimoe and One Way Out: The Inside History of The Allman Brothers Band author Alan Paul will host a Q&A at the Upper West Side Barnes & Noble this evening.
