Mickey “Dean Ween” Melchiondo debuted his latest project, the Dean Ween Group, on Wednesday night at a last minute show at John and Peter’s in New Hope, PA. According to a report by the New Hope Free Press, the band played through a number of Ween classics like “Gabrielle,” “It’s Gonna Be A Long Night,” “Piss Up A Rope” and “A Tear for Eddie,” as well as Velvet Underground and David Bowie covers and Melchiondo’s instrumental piece, “Dickey Betts,” which plays as an homage to the legendary guitarist of the same name.

The band—which consists of Melchiondo on guitar and vocals, Ween’s Dave Dreiwitz on bass, Joe Kramer on guitar, Ray Kubian on drums, and Melchiondo’s longtime collaborator and Moistboyz vocalist, Guy Heller—used the hometown show as a warm up for their inaugural tour which will kick off at The Otto Bar in Baltimore, MD tomorrow night.
