Little Feat’s Paul Barrere, Fred Tackett have added a series of acoustic dates. The Paul and Fred Acoustic Duo will play a number of clubs and theaters throughout the Northeast, Midwest and South this spring. In addition, Barrere and Tackett will join Bill Kreutzmann, Anders Osborne and Billy Iuso for two shows billed as Dead Feat during JazzFest.

Barrere has scaled back on touring due to his struggle with Hepatitis C. Little Feat has taken a hiatus from the road while Barrere recovers and the band’s solo remaining founding member, Bill Payne, has used that time to tour with Leftover Salmon. Though Little Feat regrouped for their annual destination event in Jamaica, Barrere decided not to attend due to health concerns. His future on the road also remains uncertain.

“It’s easier on my physical well-being, and on my psyche not having to travel for long periods of time,” the guitarist recently. told Jambands.com “I spent the better part of the last 23 years away from home.”

The Paul and Fred Acoustic Duo will perform at Rockport, MA’s Shalin Liu Performance Center this evening.
