Soulive got some help from a variety of special guests during the 7th night of Bowlive at the Brooklyn Bowl last night. The band was joined by 11-year-old guitar prodigy Brandon Niederauer, Marco Benevento, Felix Pastorious and The Shady Horns for the end of their first set, which also featured takes on Jimi Hendrix’s “3rd Stone From The Sun” and “Stevie Ray Vaughan’s “Lenny.”

Early in the second set, Benevento returned to the stage with Roosevelt Collier as the band debuted a very crowd-pleasing rendition of Elton John’s “Benny and The Jets” (Benevento has performed the tune for some time) before singer Sonya Kitchell joined the fray to help finish the song. Pastorious later came back out the help close out the set—which also featured takes on The Beatles’ “I Want You (She’s So Heavy),” “Revolution” and “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”—with a cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Ocean.” Kofi and Oteil Burbridge, who had just finished performing with the Allman Brothers Band earlier in the night, also made an appearance during the extended double encore that wrapped up the show.

Bowlive will come to a close tonight with special guest appearances by Bill Evans and The Shady Horns.
