Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd will play Judas Iscariot in a touring, arena rock rendition of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic musical Jesus Christ Superstar. The interestingly cast production will also feature *NSYNC’s JC Chasez as Pontius Pilate, Destiny’s Child’s Michelle Willians as Mary Magdalene, Sex Pistols frontman Johnny “Rotten” Lydon as King Herod and England’s 2012 ITV Superstar competition winner Ben Forster as Jesus. It is probably worth mentioning that April 1 was three days ago, so this is not a joke.

Jesus Christ Superstar will kick off its extensive run on June 9 with a show at the Lakefront Arena in New Orleans before making stops all over the United States and Canada over the course of the next two months. Tickets for the first 22 performances will go on sale Friday, April 11, while the on-sale dates for the rest of the tour will be announced locally.

You can check out our recent interview with Brandon Boyd, in which he talks about Phish, Incubus and his Sons of the Sea project while saying absolutely nothing about his upcoming appearance in Jesus Christ Superstar, here.
