Jerry Joseph is teaming up with Portland musician Michael Lewis to teach at the non-profit Rock School Kabul in Afghanistan. The singer-songwriter and his partner have launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise money for the trip, which will take place later this spring.

The funds will be used to pay for travel expenses, as well as shipping and logistics expenses to bring in music gear and purchase needed equipment for the school. The pair will also donate any of the extra money they raise directly to Rock School Kabul.

The pair are offering a variety of perks to those that donate, including a very special in-home concert from Joseph. $5,000 will get you a Jerry Joseph performance at your house, and you’ll even be able to write the set. Contributors that aren’t willing to shell out that much can also pick up signed merch, gifts from Afghanistan, tickets and lodging for the Jackmormons 10th anniversary show and more.

Rock School Kabul is a youth music school in Kabul, Afghanistan that is run by the Sound Studies Project. The institution provides co-ed music instruction to residents of the city from various backgrounds.
