Cibo Matto, Balkan Beat Box, Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars, Javelin and more will perform at the fourth annual Celebrate Brooklyn! Dance Parties at Brooklyn Bridge Park. From 7 to 10pm on May 8, 15 and 22, attendees can enjoy free dance concerts with live bands and DJs.

The dance parties serve as a prelude to Celebrate Brooklyn’s 36th season, which starts on June 4 with a free performance from Janelle Monáe at the Prospect Park Bandshell. The events will feature dance lessons, free valet bike parking, food trucks and more.

Each night has a different theme. The Global Dance Party on May 8 will feature performances from Balkan Beat Box and DJ Joro Boro, as well as belly dancing lessons from NYC belly dancing school Dance of Venus. The Electro-Jamz Dance Party on May 15 includes performances from Cibo Matto, Javelin and JD Samson of Le Tigre. And the African Dance Party on May 22 will feature performances from Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars and Okayafrica Electrafrique with Chief Boima and DJ Underdog, as well as dance lessons led by Iris Wilson from Cumbe: Center for African and Diaspora Dance.
