NOLA Brewing Company has unveiled its new Rebirth Pale Ale in honor of New Orleans’ legendary Rebirth Brass Band. The American style pale ale, whose name also pays tribute to the post-Katrina rebirth of New Orleans, uses five malt varieties and Cascade, Simcoe and Citra hops.

A portion of the proceeds from retail sales of the Rebirth Pale Ale will go to The Roots of Music, a non-profit youth music education organization that was co-founded by Rebirth drummer Derrick Tabb. The Brewery celebrated the release of the beer last night with a party that saw The Roots of Music Marching Crusaders perform with Tabb and other members of the iconic brass band.

The Roots of Music provides free music education, instruments, transportation and hot meals to New Orleans children from low-income families in order to help preserve the musical tradition of the Crescent City.
