The schedule has been revealed for this year’s Shorty Fest. The annual benefit will take place at at Generation’s Hall in New Orleans on Thursday, May 1 following The String Cheese Incident’s headlining performance at Jazz Fest. Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue, Soul Rebels, Young Guns Blues Showdown with Cedric Burnside Project, Jonathon “Boogie” Long, Roosevelt Collier and 11-year-old guitar wiz Brandon “Taz” Niederauer, the Original Pinettes Brass Band, members of the Trombone Shorty Academy with music directors Donald Harrison Jr. and Detroit Brooks with special guest Dr. Lonnie Smith and more are all set to perform at the event, which will feature three different stages.

As previously reported, Shorty Fest is a benefit for the Trombone Shorty Academy, a music education program for musically gifted high school students in New Orleans. Tickets for the event are now on sale, and VIP tickets that include access to a pre-party and exclusive solo set from Ivan Neville are also available.
