Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy will headline Taste of Chicago on July 12. The Belleville, IL native will assemble a backing band for the performance in Grant Park, according to Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel who took to Chicago’s WXRT today to make the announcement. He also revealed that Tweedy is currently working on a solo album.
Wilco is currently off the road, but will perform two shows at this year’s Lockn’ Festival in Arrington, VA this September.
Tweedy will join additional performers Gary Clark Jr., Spoon, Nickel Creek, AWOLNATION, Emmylou Harris and more. Admission to Taste of Chicago is free and tickets for the seated pavilions will go on sale May 22 via the TOC website.
