Celebrate Brooklyn! 2014 will return to Prospect Park this year beginning June 4 with a free concert from Janelle Monae. The full season lineup consists of 31 total shows, 24 of which are free. Among the acts slated to perform are Amos Lee and Lake Street Dive (June 20), Dum Dum Girls, Hospitality and Teen (June 21), Warpaint and Yellowbirds (June 26), Talib Kweli, Glenn Kotche and Aja Monet (July 5), Nickel Creek (July 24) and St. Vincent (August 9) among others.

Bud Light will also present the Bud Light Music Series which features The Soul Rebels (June 7), Shovels & Rope (June 27), Shaky Graves (June 27) and more.

Another performance of note occurs on June 12 when Blue Note will present Celebrate Ornette: Music of Ornette Coleman featuring special guests Afrika Bambaataa, Bill Laswell, Bruce Hornsby, Flea, Geri Allen, Henry Threagill, Patti Smith and more. Coleman’s son, Denardo, will host the event.

In addition to the free shows, several benefit shows will take place throughout the summer including Jack Johnson (June 10) and the previously announced three-night run (June 17-19) from The National with special guests Phosphorescent, Lord Huron and MS MR. Neutral Milk Hotel will also play a two-night run July 22-23 and Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds will headline July 26.
