New York City rockers The Strokes will play their first show of the year at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY on May 31. Ahead of their slot at Governors Ball at Randall’s Island, the Is This It indie darlings will play their first show since November 2011 when they played the Planeta Terra Festival in Brazil. The band has not performed in the U.S. since September of that year.

While The Strokes have no initial plans to release an album, frontman Julian Casablancas said in a recent interview, “We’re trying to carry on as friends, taking it easy, recording a couple songs and do a couple shows.” Their last official release came in the form of 2013’s Comedown Machine. Albert Hammond Jr. also recently sat down with NME to discuss the band’s plans for this year, saying that he “can’t imagine they wouldn’t” begin work on a new project.

Casablancas is still busy however, as he plans to release a solo album sometime this year (tentative date set for September) with his new band The Voidz. At SXSW this year, Casablancas took the stage with his group to run through several new songs including a rendition of his collaboration with Daft Punk—“Instant Crush.”

Tickets for the Capitol Theatre show go on sale tomorrow, May 14 via the Capitol Theatre website.
