The Beach Boys Announce Extensive Tour

The Beach Boys will embark an extensive tour celebrating the 50th anniversary of their hit song “Fun, Fun, Fun” later this month. The only original member of the group that will be touring with the band is Mike Love, though longtime keyboardist/singer Bruce Johnston will be joining them on the road. Additionally, the band will teem up with original members Al Jardine and David Mark for a special gig at Jones Beach in Long Island, NY on July 5.

The Beach Boys will make their way to over 50 locations the United States and Europe over the course of the year. The tour will also feature singer/guitarist Jeffrey Foskett, who will be replacing Love’s son Christian in the band. Foskett was a touring member of The Beach Boys in the ’80s and has steadily worked with Brian Wilson since his comeback in the ’90s.

Ticketing information varies from show to show, but the band does plan to announce more American and international dates later this year.

The surviving classic members of The Beach Boys—Love, Jardine, Marks, Wilson, Johnston and Foskett—have not performed together since the band’s 2012 50th anniversary tour, which featured stops at Bonnaroo and The Hollywood Bowl. The group also released That’s Why God Made The Radio, their first album of original material in 20 years. Jardine, Marks and Foskett all toured with Wilson last year and even surprised fans with a complete performance of Pet Sounds at New York’s Beacon Theatre in October.

Mike Love is killing The Beach Boys legacy. A scam fit for casinos and racetracks. The Britt Fest and Oregon State Fair should be ashamed of themselves. next up they will book Creedence Clearwater Revisited…oh they already have. If you are a Beach Boys or CCR fan you would not spend your good money attending such bogus shows.

MIKE LOVE IS A THIEF May 15, 2014, 17:32:26

Don’t go. Mike Love is a fraud. Brian Wilson IS that band.

So glad I caught them with Brian Wilson. Good lord, that was a great show. I am rather disgusted by Mike Love as well these days.

I realize that this info was directly lifted from a press release (how ELSE would come up with a lucid, well-written copy?) but how much fucking ink can you POSSIBLY devote to such a goddamned shameless farce? Christ.

Who gives a f*ck.
No Wilson brother(s)? No Beach Boys. Mike Love is a bald c*nt who destroyed the BB legacy decades ago. It’s an insult to Brian’s genius that he continues to tour with this embarrassing shit.

I just think it’s funny they have such a huge tour with no dates on the coast any where they are the Beach boys right

Ok maybe two

It’s enough to make a guy become a house-bound pill freak brainjacked by some kooky Svengali-esque pseudo-shrink.

Doug Donandred May 16, 2014, 09:18:19

Who is their booking manager? The guy ought to be shot! UK>NJ as part of five days in a row. Yikes…

Ok, so I get that they had a tour a couple of years ago to celebrate 50 years since they began playing together; but, the 50th anniversary of ONE song? It’s like a girlfriend who wants to celebrate the anniversary of the first time we had dessert after our meal together or some other trivial event every year.

Mark May 21, 2014, 01:50:48

So they’re going to celebrate the anniversary of each hit song now? What a joke. Just an excuse to market the fake Beach Boys show. This is nothing but a cynical marketing scam.
