Jason Isbell will reunite with his former Drive-By Truckers bandmates Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley for a single concert at the Shoals Theater in Florence, AL on June 15. The show will be a benefit for their good friend Terry Pace, who suffered two strokes in March.

Pace is a local music history, as well as a professor at the University of North Alabama. He was also a reporter at the Florence’s TimesDaliy newspaper for 25 years. A post on the Drive-By Truckers Facebook page reads:

For the past 30 years Pace has been a central figure in local music and theatrical circles. He is an actor, director, producer, lecturer and music historian who has been active in supporting and writing about the Muscle Shoals music scene.

The upcoming concert will be Isbell’s first performance with Hood and Cooley since he joined the Drive-By Truckers during their 2011 show at Hunstville, AL’s now defunct Crossroads Cafe. Isbell officially parted ways with the band in 2007.

Tickets for the show sold out quickly after going on sale yesterday.
