Lettuce got some help from a number of friends when they opened for Gramatik during a sold out show at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO on Saturday night. The band was joiend by Alecia Chakour, Dominic Lalli and Tyler Coomes during the set, which fated plenty of old material, as well as new tunes like “Yakitori” and covers of like War’s “Slippin’ Into Darkness.”

Coomes joined the band on percussion for most of the show, while Chakour made her appearance in the middle of the set for “Paid The Cost To Be The Boss,” a take on Syl Johnson’s “The Love You Left Behind,” the new track “Don’t Be Afraid To Try” and “Do It Like You Do” (Coomes plays with Fyre Department and his brother Erick “Jesus” Coomes is Lettuce’s bassist). Big Gigantic saxophonist Dominic Lalli then took the stage for “Lettsanity,” a cover of Jay Z and Kanye West’s “Niggas In Paris” and a “Madison Square” finale.

Lettuce weren’t the artist collaborating at Red Rocks that night. Lalli and Singer/producer Gibbz performed with Gramatik for much of his set, including the songs We Used to Dream” and “Get a Grip.” Gibbz also took the stage with opener Exmag for “Juke” and “Tilt Mode.”

Later in the night, Lettuce’s Eric Krasno, Adam Deitch, Erick “Jesus” Coomes and Ryan Zoidis joined Roosevelt Collier’s Colorado Get Down (Collier with Leftover Salmon’s Andy Thorn and The Motet’s Joey Porter, Garret Sayers and Dave Watts) during their late night show at Cervantes’ Other Side in Denver.
