Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers will hit the road late this summer in support of their forthcoming studio album, Hypnotic Eye. The record—the band’s first in four years—will be available on July 29 via Reprise Records.

Petty & The Heartbreakers will kick off their tour on the West Coast before working their way through Canada. Steve Winwood will open the outing, which will see the group swing through the East Coast and the South as they make their way to Los Angeles, where they will close things out at The Forum. The band has also scheduled headlining slots at Outside Lands and the Lockn’ Festival.

Tickets for most of the shows will go on sale Saturday, May 31.

Patient fanners. Just the beginning of the 2014-15 tour schedule. TP&TH will be “coming around” your neck of the woods eventually. Love those Pac NW dates! On this tour, no need for a greatest hits show which I’ve already seen several times, and which were indeed great. Although a classic from the first TP album, I really don’t need to hear American Girl again. Rather wish to see/hear the fresh version of TP&TH from the 2010-1014 including many tracks from the forthcoming rocking ‘Hypnotic Eye’. “I’m half-lit, I can’t dance for shit. But I see what I want, and I go after it.” And hope to hear TP&TH jam on tracks from Mojo and extend some tracks from his more recent dreamy solo albums. If going back in the time machine would very much enjoy anything and everything from ‘You’re Gonna Get It’. That whole album is a classic and rocks. “My baby, she’s a rock n roller…Yeah and that’s all”.

SnowJack, I’m with you on that. I’ve seen the greatest hits shows. I want to see those shows were he digs deep into his bag of tricks and kills some of the newer stuff…like they do at those extended residences they play. Charleston, SC loves you Tom Petty….
