Paul McCartney Hospitalized in Tokyo

Paul McCartney has reportedly been hospitalized in Tokyo, according to USA Today. A virus infection forced Macca to cancel his Japan tour as well as several South Korea dates.

The Sankei Sports newspaper said that the infection worsened in the last 24 hours, although there is presently no confirmation to that report as of yet. Fans have reportedly gathered outside the hospital to show their support.

UPDATE:

A spokesperson for McCartney has released a statement regarding his illness:

Since contracting a virus last week that led to the postponement of tour dates, Paul received successful medical treatment at a hospital in Tokyo. He will make a complete recovery and has been ordered to take a few days rest. Paul has been extremely moved by all the messages and well wishes he has received from fans all over the world.

My sister and I are suppose to see Paul McCartney exactly one month from today, on June 22nd. in Jacksonville, Florida. I do wish him well. His health comes first. I do hope to see him soon.
