King Crimson to Reunite for Three Shows

Legendary prog rockers King Crimson will reunite for three shows at New York City’s Best Buy Theater on September 18-20, according to Brooklyn Vegan. Frontman Robert Fripp wrote about the possibility of a reunion last year in his online diary, remarking that it was “in motion,” however these are the first dates for the band since that entry.

The lineup for these shows will feature Robert Fripp, Gavin Harrison, Bill Rieflin, Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto, Mel Collins and Jakko Jakszy.

Tickets for the shows will go on sale Friday June 6 at Noon and are available via Ticketmaster.

The album cover shown is The Court of the Crimson King but I don’t see Greg Lake mentioned in the lineup…

Who cares @ Greg Lake- Robert Fripp is on that album and EVERY KC album & that’s what it’ s all about…

Lake hasn’t been in Crimson for like 40 years. Someone’s surprised he’s not playing these shows?

no Bill Bruford? no thanks. Don’t get me wrong, Gavin is one of the best drummers in the world, but Bill will definitely be missed.

Bruford hasn’t played live with anyone in a few years, not sure why – I remember him making an announcement that he wouldn’t be doing any live performances anymore. He hasn’t played with Crimson in over 12 years, either, probably more.

But Pat Mastelotto is incredible, not to be missed. The Fripp/Levin/Mastelotto combo is a force to be reckoned with, for sure. Can’t believe Mel is back, not sure what to think of that….

Jakko Jakszy will cover for Belew and Mastelotto and Gavin should meet the requirements for percussion.
