Widespread Panic, Tedeschi Trucks Band and Jerry Joseph shared the stage last night at Chicago’s FirstMerit Bank Pavilion and as one would expect—collaborated throughout. By the end of the night, Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, Eric Bice and Jerry Joseph would end up joining Panic on stage during their one-set show.

Joseph, who plays in the Stockholm Syndrome with WSP bassist Dave Schools, was the first to join in, coming out on a performance of “Light Is Like Water.” Eric Bice joined Joseph and WSP to add percussion to the following track—“Chainsaw City”—which led into a “Drums” segment.

As “Drums” ended, Panic went into their first “Dark End of the Street” since 2007 with Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi adding guitar and some vocals. The husband and wife duo would close the set with the band on performances of “I’ve Been Working” and “Stop Breakin’ Down Blues.” Panic would close the show by themselves as the one-song encore of “Action Man” brought the night to a close.

Next up for Widespread Panic is a show at Somerset, WI’s Somerset Amphitheater alongside special guests Galactic, Conspirator, Jerry Joseph and Pert’ Near Sandstone.
