Sam Holt and friends will pay tribute to late Widespread Panic guitarist Mikey Houser with a series of shows billed as Remembering Mikey – Honoring the Music, Memory and Spirit of Michael Houser. The group will perform Houser originals from his posthumous release Sandbox, as well as tracks he penned for Widespread Panic. Holt will also play songs that he wrote for, and that were inspired by, Houser.

Holt, who was Houser’s longtime guitar tech, also took up lead guitar duties in Widespread Panic for a short time following Houser’s death and replacement guitarist George McConnell’s departure. He will be kicking off his tour in Tupelo, MS on September 10 before making stops in Birmingham, Atlanta, Augusta and Chattanooga over the course of the next week. Musicians appearing at the tribute shows include Adam Grace (keys), Ross Parker (bass), Jeremy Ward (drums), Adam Stern (guiar, pedal steel), Tor Pater (guitar, pedal steel) and many more.
