Widespread Panic to Reissue First Four Albums on Vinyl

Widespread Panic will reissue their first four albums on vinyl later this summer. The group’s first LP, 1988’s Space Wrangler, will be available on July 15, while the reissue of their self-titled 1992 album will be released on July 29. Panic have also confirmed that vinyl versions of 1993’s Everyday and 1994’s Ain’t Life Grand will be available some time in August, though no specific dates have been announced.

The reissues will be sold exclusively at independent record stores via Think Indie Distribution. Fans can look for participating retailers here.

great panic early days. miss mikey soooo much. To think jimmy would be the downfall of the band. kinda sad . always loved jimmy in different incarnations, but has kinda layed a turd with the boys.thank god for recordings.

Mikey was the man, but would rather have jimmy panic than no panic at all. Thank you jimmy for keeping this band alive and running, the Vegas run has been a blast so far

Jimmy the downfall of the band? Give me a break. Mikey was a great guitar player, and without a doubt was the soul of the WSP sound. I think bagging on Herring is pretty crazy though seeing as they are bringing the heat at pretty much every show they play lately.

Herring has layed a turd? WTF! Houser had a great unique sound but since Jimmy came in they have been much better than the first few years after Houser died.

Jimmy is fine. A worthy replacement, but nothing close to Mikey. Having seen a ton what would now be considered classic shows in the late 90’s and not so many recently it’s tough to really comment, but would say the peak was a long time ago, and there is not really much intention within the band to do much but tour with old material in the US. To have empty seats avable for the entire run with the exception of Red Rocks is pretty rough. The glory years on wax will be sweet indeed tho!!

Having seen Panic 15-20 times in the 90’s most of them with Mikey standing I can say the reason I moved on was due to the fact they stopped coming around. I live a couple hours north of st. Louis and could see 4-5 shows a year in various towns. Now, its a couple of shows in st Louis only every 3 years or more. Screw em. Plenty of other bands to see.

Band is great, jimmy is great, shows have been sold out! Panicing since 93 and am completely thrilled w/ where the band is today! Can’t wait for the fall!

Well said Andy…
Does anyone know if these will be remastered for the vinyl?

Anyone know the source for these cuts? Original tapes, perhaps?
