Widespread Panic were joined by a few old friends from The Dirty Dozen Brass Band for a few tunes during last night’s 4th of July/ Sunny Ortiz birthday show at The Joint in Las Vegas, NV.

Trumpet player Efrem Towns was the first member of the legendary New Orleans brass outfit to make an appearance when he took the stage for “It’s All Over Now” and “Fishwater” to close out the first set. Towns, trumpeter Gregory Davis, baritone saxophonist Roger Lewis and tenor saxophonist Kevin Harris then helped the band through the final half of the second set when they took the stage for “Familiar Reality,” “Christmas Katie,” “Weight of the World” and “Stop Breakin’ Down Blues.”

Widespread Panic will return to the stage tomorrow night to headline the High Sierra Music Festival in Quincy, CA.
