The Bethel Woods Center for the Arts will celebrate the 45th anniversary of Woodstock with a free screening of Woodstock: The Director’s Cut. The venue, which was the location of the original Woodstock Music and Art Fair in August of 1969, will show the four-hour version of the Oscar-winning 1970 documentary on August 15—exactly 45 years after the original festival began. The event, billed as “Back to the Field,” will start at 7pm and the film will begin at 8:30pm. While admission is free, a $5 donation is encouraged to help with the preservation of the site.

In addition to the film screening, Bethel Woods will be commemorating the anniversary with several other events. John Fogerty is set perform at the site for the first time since Woodstock on August 8, and students from the Paul Green Rock Academy will put on a Tribute to Woodstock in the Event Gallery on August 3.
