Bob Weir and The Avett Brothers Cover the Grateful Dead at Red Rocks

Bob Weir & RatDog opened up for The Avett Brothers at Morrison, CO’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre and both parties traded collaborations throughout the night. Members of the Avetts joined RatDog for one song, “Franklin’s Tower,” which closed the set.

During The Avett’s headlining set, they invited the guitarist out for a trio of songs including “Going Down the Road Feeling Bad,” “Little Sadie” and “Uncle John’s Band.” Watch a video of “Going Down the Road” above.

Weir previously joined the Avetts during their set at Mountain Jam earlier in June for a take on George Jones’ “The Race is On” as well as “Go To Sleep.”

So it appears that the death threats have scared off DJ Damage. Good riddance I say, as he was a blight of humanity. The forum will be better off without him and his blah, blah, blah…Let’s get back to a more constructive and meaningful dialogue designed to stimulate some grerat thinking and captivating conversation. I for one am thrilled each time Bobby does something and it DOESN’T make the papers, but they are also, very hard to find, as no one is reporting on them. Perhaps we can start a forum and monitor round the clock should somone care to volunteer to broker this. Long live Bobby, t
