Aaron Freeman, the musician better known as Gene Ween, took the stage with Marco Benevento at the Hudson Project in New York this weekend. The two parties, both of whom live in the Woodstock, NY area, collaborated on The Beatles’ “Why Don’t We Do It In the Road.”

Benevento played on Freeman’s new album and both musicians stayed in contact while Marco crafted his latest album Swift. Ween bassist Dave Dreiwitz also plays bass in Benevento’s band. Swift is available September 16 via Royal Potato Family.

Despite the deteriorating conditions at Hudson Project currently, this seems to be a bright spot from the weekend along with sets from Kendrick Lamar, The Flaming Lips, Dr. Dog and more.
