Lucinda Williams will release her first ever double studio album, Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone, on September 30 via her own label Highway 20 Records. The album features 20 new songs, with 18 written solely by Williams. The album’s opening track, “Compassion,” was originally a poem by her father, Miller Williams. The JJ Cale-penned tune “Magnolia” also appears on the record.

Joining Williams on the album is the likes of Ian McLagan, Pete Thomas, Davey Faragaher, Stuart Mathis, Bill Friesell and Tony Joe White, among others. Jakob Dylan appears as a vocalist on the record as well as Butch Norton and David Sutton who add drums and bass, respectively.
