Conor Oberst Drops Lawsuit Against Rape Accuser
Following a public apology from Joanie Faircloth, the woman who accused Conor Oberst of raping her, the singer/songwriter has dropped his libel suit against the accuser. Faircloth’s statement mentioned that everything she accused Oberst of was “100% false” and that she “made up those lies about him to get attention.” Read the full statement here.
Faircloth’s original claim was posted in December on XOJane.com saying that Oberst took advantage of her backstage at a show in North Carolina. The Bright Eyes frontman recently released a statement following the apology.
