Johnny Marr Announces Solo Album

The Smiths’ Johnny Marr will release his second solo effort Playland, on October 6 via Warner Bros. The follow-up to 2013’s The Messenger will feature 11 tracks recorded in London directly after his debut solo effort came out.

“When The Messenger came out I kept on writing,” Marr said in a statement. “I liked that the band had a momentum going on tour and a connection with the audience, and I thought that energy would be good to capture on the new record.”

Pre-orders for the album are ongoing.

Playland Tracklist:

Back in the Box
Easy Money
25 Hours
The Trap
Speak Out Reach Out
Boys Get Straight
This Tension
Little King

Why refer to him as The Smiths’ guitarist. They broke up 27 yrs ago. Not a chance in hell they will ever reunite either.
