Primus will release a new album on October 21. Their eighth album will serve as the follow up to 2011’s Green Naugahyde and is currently unnamed. In speaking with SF Weekly, Les Claypool mentioned that the record will feature their own interpretation of Willy Wonka songs which the band performed on New Year’s.

As previously reported, Primus’ drummer Tim Alexander recently suffered a heartattack for which he underwent successful open heart surgery. All signs point to a “glorious and speedy” recovery.
