Gov’t Mule handled opening duties for The Avett Brothers last night at Alpharetta’s Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. Serving as the final show on the band’s current tour, Mule welcomed out old pal Jimmy Herring for a performance of “Devil Likes It Slow.” The WSP guitarist has performed on the tune on several occasions.

Next up for Gov’t Mule is a show on August 13 at Blue Hills Bank Pavilion alongside special guests Blackberry Smoke.

Here’s a look at the setlist as it appears in our Box Scores section:

i was there last night …..
Good as it gets. Sun still up when Gov’t Mule opened but 20minutes in sweet breeze came through for the evening. From my seat (104-R-1) sound was tuned in, yes even the lower bass (almost). Never the less Warren and company put the venue to good use. The man can soar on vocals & guitar….thank you!! Oh yeah…Jimmy Herring sittin in? Jimmy always brings a smile to the stage.
