Jack White can’t seem to stop topping himself. The rocker, who played the then longest set of his career just last week, pushed that record even further last night when he treated the Masonic Temple Theatre in his hometown of Detroit to a 35 song show that featured plenty of White Stripes classics, a couple of covers and a The Dead Weather reunion.

White kicked off the three-hour performance with a a number of White Stripes songs and some solo material before going into a cover of Hank Williams’ “You Know That I Know.” White was then joined on stage by his The Dead Weather bandmates Dean Fertita and Alison Mosshart for a take on “I Cut Like A Buffalo,” a track from the band’s 2009 album Horehound. White continued with even more White Stripes tunes, as well as another Hank Williams cover (“Ramblin’ Man”). The set then closed out with The Raconteurs “Steady, As She Goes” and a medley of The White Stripes’ “Ball and Biscuit,” “Got My Mojo Workin,” and “The Lemon Song.”

However things did not end there, as White returned to the stage for a ten song encore to wrap up the night. The White Stripes classic “Hardest Button to Button” opened things before White went into a combined cover of “Sixteen Saltines” and Beck’s and “Devil’s Haircut.” The encore also included a take on The Dead Weather’s “Blue Blood Blues,” and the whole thing ended with “Seven Nation Army.”

In related news, White threw out the first pitch during Tuesday evening’s Detroit Tigers game, where he appeared to have more fun than he did at Wrigley Field last week.

Jack White will continue his tour tonight at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
