Dumpstaphunk have announced that longtime drummer Nikki Glaspie will be parting ways with the band in order to hit the road full time with her new project, The Nth Power. Glaspie, who replaced drummer Raymond Weber in 2011, will be playing her final show with Dumpstaphunk at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill on Friday, August 22. Glaspie will be replaced by New Orleans drummer Alvin Ford Jr., who is set to join the band on August 23.

Dumpstaphunk have released a statement that reads:

We love Nikki and wish her nothing but the best moving forward. We’ve shared many amazing shows together, along with an album we’re all very proud of. No doubt we’ll be seeing each other down the road. In the mean time, we reached out to our extended family of New Orleans musicians and can confirm that Alvin Ford Jr. will join us on tour starting August 23 in Park City, UT.

As previously reported, The Nth Power will hit the road for a lengthy tour this fall. The group features Glaspie, as well as Nigel Hall, Nick Cassarino, Nate Edgar and Weedie Bramah.
