New tribe is like old tribe and the old new tribe is thankfully gone and Murph was seemingly responsible for their former stylistic change for the worse. Now (and directly after the breakup) Murph rides the coattails of Tribe on playbills and other promotions. Whether this decision is his or the promoters is unclear, regardless, as an old STS9 fan, I could not be happier that he moved on.

why shouldn’t he “ride the coattails” and promote the fact that he is formerly of sts9? He’s responsible for their success as much as the rest of the guys and is one of the original 4.

@T
Just to be the devils advocate, if you saw a playbill with a common name like “David Murphy” wouldnt you instantly wonder if that was Murph from STS9 or some other guy? I think since hes in the beginning stages of his new career, it probably isnt a bad idea to market who he is… My $.02.

I am with T. He left sts9. Its not like john fruscante tours with an act and bills it as “john fruscante, formerly of RHCP”. Sounds like his ego, the main reason behind his departure, still has not waned at all. Enjoy your crunchy whomps and offering 16 yr olds mahldawgz, murphy formerly of sts9.
