Umphrey’s McGee wrapped up a run of shows this week with a slot at The Stone Pony Summerstage in Asbury Park, NJ. Much like they did at their last visit to the venue in 2012 when G. Love joined the group for “Women Wine and Song,” Umphrey’s welcomed out drummer Ilya Stemkovsky for a “Drums” segment that emanated out of a cover of “Rock the Casbah.” Stemkovsky joined Jake Cinninger and Andy Farag on the percussion kit while the rest of the band jammed out the song.

Stemkovsky, who came up with the now defunct OM Trio and also played with Brothers Past, recently sat in with Umphrey’s in 2011 for a cover of Rage Against the Machine’s “Bombtrack” which featured the drummer on vocals.

Next up for Umphrey’s is a show on August 14 at the Iroquois Amphitheater in Louisville, KY.
