I'm There August 15, 2014, 11:01:31

I’ll be there, Phil is the man and the Cap is awesome…5 sets of Fri&Sat night shows…gonna be a sick Nov!

august west August 15, 2014, 11:15:45

Pete Shapiro is a douche!

Joshua Katt August 15, 2014, 11:19:38

Well it took them long enough to figure out that no one that earns the money that these shows command can go to weekday shows and work the next day. Hopefully this is the end of this horrible money losing lockdown contract, Phil comes to his senses, Bobby gets better and Furthur emerges stronger than ever in 2015!

PhillyCash August 15, 2014, 11:59:59

He is no different than a prostitute with a pimp who has told his ladies they have to have a certain amount of tricks by a certain date or he won’t buy them new shoes and will backhand them. Phil has to much money to be in that position, but there is no logic to human trafficking.

PhilBOMB!! August 15, 2014, 12:04:48

HELL YEAH !!! BRING IT PHIL !!!!

gypsy davey August 15, 2014, 12:15:25

whats with all the haters? phil doesn’t want to tour on the road anymore – you should be glad he’s still playing and the Cap is great. I guess if you don’t live near Port Chester or SF it kind of sucks. by the way, P&F is every bit as good as Furthur

Terrapin August 15, 2014, 12:17:39

Phil is the man!!! Have fun east coasters I will be at the October Vegas shows and of course the awesome events at terrapin crossroads!!! We love you Phil
NFA

bryontreece August 15, 2014, 12:47:13

I would love to go to at least one of these shows, but the tickets are always a bit too pricey for me.

Don August 15, 2014, 12:55:33

webcast folks, $15 bucks and you never have to leave your house. best deal in tonw!

MarZaPhiGar August 15, 2014, 12:58:16

Listen hatersm the clock is ticking on the GDF. Couple years from now & you will all be crying. Shut the fuck up.

Mole August 15, 2014, 12:58:39

Thanks for shitting on Boston again, Phil. No PnF since ’08 in the city that supported the GD for so many years and hosted multiple show runs for decades. I guess it’s just “In Shapiro we Trust” these days for Phil. And spare me the “Phil doesn’t want to tour on the road anymore” snow job. Vegas, London, Virginia, Phil is touring, he just didn’t want to tour with Furthur.

Mosthigh August 15, 2014, 14:20:44

Phil opens Terrapin Crossroads, then jumps in with Shapiro, and now hardly plays there anymore. I guess its more lucrative to play multiple dates at the Capitol, etc., and use that money to keep TXR afloat, rather than play there regularly.

Rob August 15, 2014, 14:49:26

Listen the rich guys shouldn’t call the tight budget guys haters,be kind
As for the tight budget Phil is playing forest hills for $59 a ticket so stop your whining

ratdogfreak August 15, 2014, 16:13:41

@mosthigh wtf are you talking about? Phil plays at TxR constantly. He’s playing three announced show in the next two weeks. add to that the fact that he is always playing free bar shows when he’s in town. I was down ther for a week and half at the end of june/beginning of july and i caught 6 shows in like 10 days.

NKP August 15, 2014, 17:13:45

I love ya Phil, no matter where you play.

kris August 15, 2014, 18:21:56

when phil has john k with him, I will go to a couple shows. bobby will get better and FURTHUR will be back next april. cannot wait!!! port chester is the best.long live FURTHUR!!

Static August 15, 2014, 19:33:38

Quick buy more F’en tickets… Start the BS bashing.. Deadhead ‘ s Weir did ya go. Maybe it’s a dream we all dreamed one afternoon.

Joshua362 August 15, 2014, 19:52:15

Forest Hills seats 19,000 while the Cap seats 1,900. I paid nearly $200 a seat the last P&F run, so by that math Forest Hills should cost $20, not $59! Phil, I love you to death but will only see you with everyone from Furthur in the future. There was a very obvious fall out between Phil and Bobby after the April 2013 Cap run when Bob took his tumble, hence the rushed summer/Locken/fall tour to fulfill contractual obligations and the very short 6 song opening sets. Please forgive Bobby Phil, I’m reminded before the encore at every show that you didn’t live a perfect life either! PS – does anyone believe the “no tour anymore” BS ?

jtr August 15, 2014, 20:07:22

Phil + Railroad Earth??

ronnie August 15, 2014, 21:11:08

the more phil the better! cheers!

Captan trips August 16, 2014, 00:42:30

Pete Shapiro is a money hungry prick

gypsy davey with a blow torch August 16, 2014, 08:03:53

Then stay home Captain Dip. Look at how much we paid for Dead tix 20 years ago.

Locken Greed August 16, 2014, 11:39:09

“Pete Shapiro is a money hungry prick”, yup and a star-f’er too. So glad I’m staying away from Locken 2 after giving them $2200 last year for 2 tix. Another cluster F is gonna happen as bad karma for taking Phil away from Furthur due to this horrible deal. Hope it all implodes on him…

chynnakatt August 16, 2014, 12:14:27

Living 30 or so minutes from the Cap….I LOVE it!! The Cap has an aura all it’s own which helps make any show there kickin’! I can see someone’s point for those who don’t live near NYC or SF…. that’s one of the reasons we moved back home to the NYC area from St. Pete, FL…not much love in the music scene in the Tampa Bay area…we’re GRATEFUL to be home!! Hope to see you all in Queens next month!!

SoundHound August 16, 2014, 14:57:51

Let’s face it, we are blessed the Peter Shaperio had the foresight to bring back the Capitol Theatre in all it’s glory. It is very expensive to operate a quality venue. This is the free market at work. Prices too high, people won’t go. prices too low and you’re out of business. Besides, Peter is one of us….a Deadhead. Thanks Pete!

August west August 16, 2014, 15:39:03

Pete a deadhead….lol

gypsy davey with a blow torch August 16, 2014, 16:22:42

Then stay home with your Pearly Baker or your burgundy wine

Locken Greed August 16, 2014, 19:35:00

“This is the free market at work. Prices too high, people won’t go. prices too low and you’re out of business. “ This is very true to a certain extent. Problem is, at the Cap, with its proximity to the never ending supply of yuppie douche bags in the NYC, Westchester and CT areas with tons of money and nothing to do but come to the show and chat non-stop with the girls they are trying to impress. The real fans get a double whammy of overpaying and having to deal with these idiots. Yes, over time, the free market should work itself out but time isn’t exactly what the surviving members of the GD have.

dave bonan August 16, 2014, 22:43:57

human trafficking? pimp?
how about that he’s 74 years old and doesn’t wanna tour extensively. screw 3 nite runs. he’s got a nice apartment in nyc, friends in nyc and a residency makes him feel comfortable.

Eric Davis,(aka: TnJedd74) August 17, 2014, 21:34:21

Philly Cash

Doc August 18, 2014, 13:56:47

The line-ups that Phil puts together (IMHO) are better than any Further show I’ve seen…That being said I’m grateful that they are all still kickin’ and playin’ in a band

coolio August 18, 2014, 18:41:38

PHIL IS MOST DEFINATELY THE MAN, NOT TOO MANY IF ANYONE COMPARES. CANT WAIT. WORTH MILES OF TRAVEL. LETS GO ROCK THE HOUSE PHIL.

mstaggerlee August 19, 2014, 17:26:10

Phil’s deal with Shapiro was arranged AFTER the announcement that Furthur would not tour after January. There’s NO cause and effect relationship there. Phil wanted Bobby to get his shit together BEFORE next year’s 50th anniversary, and Bobby essentially said “F U Phil”, hit the road with Ratdog on a typically grueling tour, and we now see the result of all that. I expect Billy, Mickey or both to tour with Phil & Bob next year, likely with John K. & Jeff Chimenti, maybe with another guitarist as well (Warren?). And that they’ll tour as The Dead, not Furthur.

Charles Brown August 21, 2014, 06:42:11

Not a single one of you haters knows what you are talking about. Go fucking home to your DMB and MOE. (NOOOO) bootlegs and your hula hoops.

DEADFAN August 21, 2014, 11:53:57

wow. Bunch of haters,,,, if any of you guys are under 40 yrs old you shouldn’t even be on this site’ nevermind sounding like a bunch of fucking cry babies! Get a real job-plan for a few shows When u can and shut the fuck up!

DD August 22, 2014, 16:51:31

I love Bobby, but will take a P&F show over a Furthur show, ANY DAY... Bobby seems to way too often take the energy wayyyy down… put me to sleep.. sure the whole show is not slow, but much of it is… P&F always rocks it out, full of energy non stop!

greg dutterer August 23, 2014, 02:59:49

Dumb asses! Some of the haters on this sight , shouldn’t open your mouths, especially if you’re under I 0! Phil isi 74, and I think doing residences are great! I could tell from the start of the ratdog show at the greek los angeles, bobby wasn’t himself! Saw the last 6 shows ratdog, played and weir was struggling and not having fun! Bobby should consider doing residences, hoping for a 50th anniversary dead tour, but who knows! Residences or not it’s still the great music we all live

Cassidy August 25, 2014, 17:56:13

Wow,,,, why are so many needing to spead so much time and effort in being miserable.
For all of us “others”,,,,we’re happy, and appreciative that Phil is still willing and able to spend time with us!
And yeah, I live good in Putnam County NY, a place to rest my head, raise my kids and even own a car,, And I’ve been seening the Boys since 70.
Enjoy it while you can, or move aside.

mstaggerlee September 3, 2014, 15:46:38

When do we find out who’ll be the “friends” for the Cap gigs. Or do we have to buy tix for Phil and a Mystery Band?

keepitgreen September 3, 2014, 21:48:17

If you get confused …listen to the music play!
Peace , Love , Health and Happiness to all !
Let the music always fill your souls …

kris September 9, 2014, 16:26:49

I’ll go to a couple shows if John K is playing in that band. It’s not as exciting as Furthur, but i’ll drive 3 hours each way to see John K for sure. It’ll hold me over til next spring when Furthur will return.

FairyDust September 13, 2014, 22:23:33

Phil w/everyone from Furthur but Bob + various ‘special guests’ have put on some amazing shows!
The constantly revolving players makes it hard for the many incarnations to gel sometimes, though.
I wish he’d keep the core band & just add additional guests periodically to make it interesting for those who love to hate on Furthur.
Not hating, just opinionating ;)
(My own only, of course)

Myles October 30, 2014, 15:26:25
