Allman Brothers Welcome Special Guests at Peach Festival

The Allman Brothers Band headlined two nights at the Peach Festival in Scranton, PA and welcomed a variety of special guests throughout as the band heads towards their finale at the end of the year.

The first night featured the band performing their Eat a Peach album in its entirety. Gov’t Mule keyboardist Danny Louis joined the band on a pair of tunes including the opening “Ain’t Wastin’ Time No More” as well as “That’s What Love Will Make You Do” in the encore.

On Sunday night, four guests would appear at various points as Taj Mahal joined the band on “Statesboro Blues” first. Following a take on “You Don’t Love Me,” Warren Haynes Band’s Ron Holloway sat in for the staple “Soulshine” before keyboardist Gabor Presser added his instrument to “Good Morning Little Schoolgirl.” The final collaboration on the night would come in the form of Pete Levin, who is a former member of God Street Wine and also plays in Gregg Allman’s band, on “Please Don’t Keep Me Wondering” and “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed.” The band closed out the weekend with a standalone encore of “Whipping Post.”

How did gregg sound!? This look like a pretty sweet festival

Sounded great!! What a great place to have the Peach!! Only problem I witnessed was the handicap parking. The shuttling of ADA concert goers was just wrong. They had four wheelers, beer tractor trailer, ice trucks blocking spots. You cannot sell the other handicap spots (Live Nation) to make extra cash!! First two years was smooth for ADA parkers. No shuttles for handicap! Great venue! I will travel to Scranton again!! See you next year!

The parking and shuttle situation was a nightmare, and hiking up the mountain to my camp site never got any easier, but otherwise this was a fantastic festival. Great vibe, great weather, and a great lineup, and I thought all of the bands killed it. Trey’s set was a little weak on Friday, but it ended hot, and I thought his Saturday set was great. All in all, super fun weekend, and the water park was a nice little bonus, too. Thanks Peach. I’ll be back.

Amazing performances, but I believe there was also a “Can’t Lose What You Never Had” in the Sunday set.

Boring setlist…

I saw both ABB performances (Sat & Sun) and thought that the Suday show was better/crisper. Bobby Weir and Ratdog were missed for sure on Friday night…
I thought Grgg was Ok @ The Peach .. he seemed crisper at the early Beacon shows in March before he got sick …
who will replace Warren & Derek ? Scoffield & Herring? Devon and Dickie Betts ?
or will Butchie and Jamoi call it quits too …
Pretty sure Gregg will continue to book dates with his band …
