Bill Kreutzmann’s Locknstep Allstars will feature the Grateful Dead drummer along with Aron Magner, Oteil Burbridge and Steve Kimock. The band will also be joined by announced special guests Taj Mahal, Papa Mali, Keller Williams, Col. Bruce Hampton, EOTO and Tom Hamilton. The special collaboration, constructed following the cancelation of Bob Weir & RatDog, will perform at the festival on September 5 before Phil Lesh & Friends.

The drummer’s core band and special guests all share certain connections with him. Among them, Magner recently performed with Kreutzmann as a part of a special collaboration at Gathering of the Vibes which saw The Disco Biscuits team up with Kreutzmann and fellow Rhythm Devil Mickey Hart for a headlining set. Kimock was a part of the post-Grateful Dead project The Other Ones, while Papa Mali is a 7 Walker and Keller Williams is in The Rhythm Devils.

Lockn’ will return to Arrington, VA on September 4-7, featuring Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, The Allman Brothers Band, Phil Lesh & Friends, Wilco, Widespread Panic, The String Cheese Incident, Willie Nelson, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Umphrey’s McGee, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals and many others. Both single day tickets and four day passes are available.
