Bob Dylan, B.B. King,Willie Nelson, Brain Wilson, The Cure, Roger Daltry, Billy Joel, Yusuf Islam (aka Cat Stevens) and many more have contributed tracks to The Art of Paul McCartney, an upcoming tribute to the legendary Beatle. The 34-track compilation (42 in the deluxe edition) was the brainchild of onetime McCartney producer Ralph Stall, who enlisted the help of McCartney’s backing band— Rusty Anderson and Brian Ray (guitar), Paul “Wix” Wickens (keyboards) and Abe Laboriel, Jr. (drums).
The first track see the light of day in a rendition of The Beatles’ “Hello Goodbye” from The Cure with McCartney’s son James. The rest of The Art of Paul McCartney is set for release on November 18. The album will be available in CD, vinyl and digital formats, and special deluxe editions with a variety of goodies will also be released.
