Ryan Adams celebrated the release of his new self-titled record last night with a show at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC with his band, The Shining. The group, as expected, debuted several new songs from the record including “Trouble” and “I Just Might” to go along with previously played new cuts “Gimme Something Good,” “Am I Safe,” “Stay With Me,” “My Wrecking Ball” and the set-closing “Kim.”

Additionally, Adams dug into his extensive back catalog to pull out a trio of tunes from his time with The Cardinals. A pair of tracks from the band’s 2005 effort Cold Roses made their first appearance since 2009 including the title track as well as “Easy Plateau.” The band also delivered the first “A Kiss Before I Go” since 2009, a tune that came from The Cardinals’ 2005 album, Jacksonville City Nights.

The guitarist also played “When the Summer Ends,” a track off of his punk rock-inspired EP 1984. The entire EP is available to stream over at Relix.com.

Ryan Adams will next take to London for four shows in the city beginning September 14.
