The annual Farm Aid concert took place yesterday at Walnut Creek Amphitheatre in Raleigh, NC. As always, the event was headlined by performances from the Farm Aid board members, Dave Matthews, John Mellencamp, Neil Young and Willie Nelson. Joining the core four were big names such as Jack White, Gary Clark Jr., Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Delta Rae, Todd Snider and more.

Among the highlights included Jack White bringing his Lazaretto tour to Farm Aid, as the guitarist leaned on his new material as well as cuts from his time with The White Stripes such as “Icky Thump,” “Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground,” “Hotel Yorba,” “We’re Going to Be Friends” and the closing “Seven Nation Army.” Clark also dug into his particular brand of blues rock, entertaining the crowd with cuts from his latest Blak and Blu.

Neil Young welcomed out a few guests during his set, as the guitarist invited Mickey Raphael from Willie Nelson’s Family Band to add harmonica to “Mother Earth.” The closing jam of “Rockin’ in the Free World” included Nelson’s sons—Lukas and Micah—playing on the iconic rock song.

To close the night, Wille Nelson brought out his son Lukas for a cover of Stevie Ray Vaughn’s “Texas Flood.” As is customary with Farm Aid’s in the past, a variety of musicians including members of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Jamey Johnson and the board members took the stage for the closing “I Saw the Light.”
