Primus announced today they will play a New Year’s show in Oakland, CA at the Fox Theater along with a slew of other dates on their Primus and the Chocolate Factory tour in support of their new album due out October 21. The band’s New Year’s show will not be Chocolate Factory-themed.

Additional dates added include stops in Escondido, CA, Portland, OR and Seattle during the first week of January.

Recently, Tool drummer Danny Carey made his Primus debut, filling in for Tim Alexander who is recovering from heart surgery. The two parties collaborated on a cover of Tool’s “Ænema.”

Tickets to all shows are available via the band’s website. Pre-orders# for the album are currently ongoing.

Additionally, Les Claypool and Larry Lalonde will be on hand to discuss and sign the new Primus book, Over the Electric Grapevine: Insight into Primus and the World of Les Claypool on September 18 at Tattered Cover in Denver, CO. A limited number of free tickets to the signing will be available on September 16.
