Prior to his appearance with the Everyone Orchestra on September 20 at The Cutting Room in New York, Umphrey’s McGee’s Joel Cummins will perform a short solo piano set beginning at 10:30. Cummins confirmed the news on his Twitter earlier today.

In a statement, Cummins said, “When the chance to play an acoustic piano comes up, it always takes me back to my roots. In the spirit of Everyone Orchestra, I’ll be opening for the EO in NYC on Saturday with a short set of improvisational solo piano and perhaps an Umphrey’s McGee song or two. Can’t wait to play for you New York!”

Cummins will join the EO lineup that includes the likes of Cris Jacobs (The Bridge), Jennifer Hartswick, Russ Lawton and Natalie Cressman (Trey Anastasio Band), Ashish Vyas (Thievery Corporation) and Adam Smirnoff (Lettuce).
