Showbiz411.com is reporting that Dave Matthews will star in an upcoming featured film entitled Angels, directed by actress and children’s book author Meg Tilly. Matthews will reportedly play a man with medical and financial problems struggling to get a liver transplant for his two-year old daughter. Matthews’ business partner and manager Jonathan Dorfman is listed as an executive producer. Filming is scheduled to begin in March.

The DMB frontman’s acting prowess is well-established at this point, as Matthews has appeared in such films as Because of Winn-Dixie, the drama Lake City and a few films with pal Adam Sandler including You Don’t Mess with the Zohan, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry and the latest, Just Go With It.

Matthews also famously appeared on an episode of House in 2007 as a piano-playing musical savant who underwent invasive brain surgery, ultimately costing him his musical abilities.
