The Velvet Underground will celebrate their 45th anniversary with a special reissue of their self-titled record. Due out November 24 via Polydor, the six-CD collection includes 65 tracks with various outtakes, remixes and live recordings.
The first three discs feature various mixes of the album including a stereo and mono mix as well as the original 1969 pressing. The fourth disc is comprised of unreleased material the band recorded in 1969 at New York’s Record Plant. The disc features brand new mixes of the likes of “Lisa Says” and “I Can’t Stand It” as well as the original version of “Ocean.”
Discs five and six are pulled from The Velvet Underground’s live performances on November 26 and 27, 1969, marking the first time these songs have been compiled and mixed from the original multi-track recordings.
Pre-orders for the set are currently ongoing.
