Isaiah “Ikey” Owens, a member of The Mars Volta and the current keyboardist in Jack White’s band, died of a heartattack in Mexico on the morning of October 14 at approximately 4 AM, according to a statement. As for the reported drugs found in his hotel room, a publicist confirms that the only drugs in his room were a small amount of marijuana.

Following the news of Owens’ death, Jack White responded by canceling the rest of his Mexico tour. A statement through the Third Man Records website broke the news of Owens’ passing yesterday.
