After Pearl Jam played No Code in full on Friday night in Moline, IL, the band continued that theme with a full performance of 1998’s Yield last night in Milwaukee, WI.

Before they kicked off the album segment with “Brain of J,” Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen sat in on a rare early cover of The Who’s “Baba O’Riley.” Guitarist Mike McCready has been using a Rick Nielsen checkered model guitar and did so last night along with bassist Jeff Ament.

One of the more interesting aspects of the Yield performance was the placement of “Red Dot,” the brief instrumental track that falls in the middle of the record. The band used it as an intro for the opening tune of the night, “Pendulum,” foreshadowing what was to come just five songs in. While most of Yield currently resides in heavy rotation, “No Way” did see its first play since November 24, 2013 and “MFC” made its tour debut along with “Push Me, Pull Me.”

Additional highlights from the show, which Eddie Vedder proclaimed early on as the “best of the tour,” included a “Setting Forth” request from Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers as well as a take on Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down” for the guitarist’s birthday. The band also delivered Neil Young’s “Fuckin’ Up” in the second encore.

Pearl Jam’s tour winds to a close with a show on October 22 at Denver, CO’s Pepsi Center. The group will also play two shows at the Bridge School Benefit Concert alongside Soundgarden, Neil Young and more.
