Foo Fighters are currently in the process of promoting their new television series and forthcoming album, Sonic Highways. In the process, the band has performed a series of intimate shows in the respective cities on the night of their episode. The most recent show, at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, featured a sit-in from Zac Brown on Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs.” Brown welcomed the band during their recording sessions at his own Southern Ground studios in Nashville and was featured prominently in the episode.

On Sunday night at the Voodoo Festival in New Orleans, another Sonic Highways connection came to the stage as the band played “This is a Call” with special guest Trombone Shorty. The New Orleans trombone player has previously sat in with the group at their secret show at Preservation Hall when the Foos were in town recording at the famed studio.

The band’s next episode, centered in Austin, will be accompanied by a taping at the Moody Theater for Austin City Limits on November 7. The Foos have also confirmed a show next summer at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC on July 4. Tickets are on sale November 8 at 10 AM.
