Rick Rosas, longtime bassist for Neil Young, has died at the age of 65. Rosas first backed Young on his 1988 album This Note’s For You after meeting the singer-songwriter at Farm Aid the previous year (Rosas was there as a member of Joe Walsh’s backing band). He went on to back Young on six albums and one EP between then and 2009, and he also performed with Crosby Stills Nash and Young, a later edition of Buffalo Springfield, Jerry Lew Lewis, Ron Wood and more over the years. Most recently, Rosas filled in for Crazy Horse bassist Billy Talbot after he suffered a stroke last summer. As of now, Rosas cause of death has not been reported.
