The Who started their 50th anniversary with a celebration at the 02 Shepherds Bush Empire in West London which featured appearances from Eddie Vedder, Rush’s Geddy Lee, Liam Gallagher, Tom Odell, Wilko Johnson and many more. The show also served as a benefit for Roger Daltrey’s Teenage Cancer Trust, which provides specialist treatment for young cancer patients.

Notable appearances included Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, a longtime fan of The Who, playing “Naked Eye,” “Won’t Get Fooled Again” and “Listening to You” with The Who’s touring band which featured Pete Townshend’s brother Simon on guitar and Zak Starkey on drums.

Liam Gallagher of Oasis also appeared for “My Generation” and Rush’s Geddy Lee offered up a take on “The Seeker.” British singer-songwriter Tom Odell also played “Getting in Tune.” Daltrey, along with hosting the event, performed a couple of tunes to close the evening, joining the ensemble for “Substitute” and “Young Man Blues.”
