STS9 continued their fall hot streak when they debuted covers of the Grateful Dead’s “West LA Fadeaway” and the Isley Brothers “Footsteps in the Dark” during the second set of last night’s show at The Wiltern in Los Angeles. The crowd went wild as “Gobnugget” segued into the Dead cover, which then seamlessly jammed into “Re: Emergence.” The Isley Brothers cover (which was famously sampled by Ice Cube for his 1993 hit “It Was A Good Day”) then appeared later in the set as the meat in a “Wika Chikana” sandwich.
Last night’s show marked the first performance of STS9’s two-show California run. The band will play their last Fall 2014 show tonight when they take the stage at the Fox Theater in Oakland.
